This article in the Washington Post confirms how the powerful interests of the fossil-fuel industry stand in the way of a smooth transition to post-carbon energy system this world needs. As with the banks, the bill will have to be paid later and it is society which will pay it after the industry will have distributed its profits in the form of huge bonuses.
