Spaceship Earth is a metaphor for a new way of looking at Earth — as a complex system that must be aggressively managed.”

Interesting but questionable article in the Washington Post which redefines the Spaceship Earth narrative to make the case for a more interventionist approach to dealing with our planetary crisis.
Is this view of more aggressive management of Planet Earth not embedded in the same Promethean attitude which created our planetary emergency in the first place? Maybe it is time to reread Kenneth Boulding’s original “The Economics of the coming  Spaceship Earth” (1966)
